Review of Samsung LE32A457
The Samsung LE32A457 features an impressive design, with a high quality black gloss finish that will look good in any living room. Like any good LCD TV, it comes with a sturdy swivel stand that matches the gloss finish and lets you rotate the TV to any viewing angle. The remote has a smooth shape and the same glossy finish that you'll find on the TV. A very attractive, classy looking package.
The LE32A457 comes with built in freeview to access all standard free channels. The freeview interface is very easy to use and shows exactly what's on each channel and when. It looks similar to Sky's setup and the interface is great fun to use. You can see what's coming on in the next 7 days. While you're navigating around the freeview, there's a mini view of the channel you're currently watching, so you don't need to miss anything while you're browsing.
So what kind of features can you expect here? Despite being a low priced set, the LE32A457 has some excellent features. It uses DNI+ which improves the picture quality with it's contrast enhancer, colour optimizer and Motion Optimizer technology. This technology makes a noticeable difference to the quality of the picture over TVs that don't have it. The TV features a respectable 10,000:1 contrast ratio and a welcome 3 HDMI inputs.
The LE32A457 produces some wonderful rich blacks, that would have been only possible at the top of the range sets only a year ago. You can't notice any gray areas on the black and for a budget panel, the detail of dark areas is perfect! DNIe helps make the colours on this set look vibrant and rich. This set produces gorgeous natural colours that you won't get on other TVs in it's category.
The HD performance of this siet, while lacking Full 1920 x 1080, is very impressive. You'll appreciate the levels of crisp detail and how sharp the images are. While the audio performance of this TV is nothing staggering, it does a competant job in the audio department, especially compared to TVs of the same size and price.
All in all the LE32A457 is a very good all round 32" TV. You're getting some great technology in this LCD panel, good levels of detail, excellent blacks and colours, and a superb freeview interface.
