The Toshiba Regza RV Series

Toshiba RegzaIf you're looking at Toshiba TVs, you've probably noticed the RV series. This is a range of full 1080p HD LCD TVs from Toshiba with some interesting technology in them, aimed at improving all aspects of the display and audio. The Regza RV series also have a stylish glossy finish that will look good in any living room. And there's some important eco-friendly features built in too. Lets take a look at the RV series and what it has to offer.

Resolution+

While everyone is talking HD, we've all still got content we want to watch that is in standard definition - like DVDs and TV stations that aren't in HD format. One of the selling point for modern TVs is how well they can make those images look on a large LCD panel. Resolution+ is Toshiba's brand of upscaling technology that is designed to make your standard definition content look more respecrztable.

Resolution+ uses Toshiba's Mega Brain, an on board computer, to constantly clean up, enhance and sharpen the image that's on screen. While you're not going to get the claimed 'near HD picture quality', you can expect images to look far better with Resolution+ than on a Toshiba TV that hasn't got it. So Resolution+ will make DVDs and non-HD content appear sharper, clearer and richer.

Eco Panel

Another massive thing that TV manufacturers are trying to win you over with at the moment is how GREEN their TVs are. Eco panel is Toshiba's energy saving LCD screens that use less power than regular TVs, without reducing picture quality. The Regza RV series of LCD TVs are built in such a way that they require as little as half as much light as conventional panels to operate. Opting for a Regza RV will use 45% on your TV's energy consumption.

AutoView

Another thing that modern TVs are incorporating now, and tied in with the environmental theme is to intelligently adjust the picture settings depending on the lighting conditions in the room. This has two benefits. Firstly, less power is used when the room is darker. Secondly, this system is designed to display images at the best possible settings, without you having to constantly make adjustments.

AutoView constantly adjusts the settings of your LCD TV's backlight brightness to give the best possible picture at any time. It does this with an ambient light sensor (not all that different from the kind used by professional photographers). Autoview is designed to make the TV operate at peak performance at any time.
